Basic Food Safety

The aim of this course is to equip participants with the basic food safety knowledge to enable them to work with food in a safe and hygienic manner.

  • List the responsibilities of a food worker.
  • Identify various food poisoning bacteria and the conditions necessary for bacterial growth.
  • Understand the importance of cleaning and cleaning schedules.
  • Understand the requirements of personal hygiene.
  • Indentify a pest infestation and how to deal with it.

Who Should Attend?

All persons working in the areas of food preparation, storage or management. Under current food safety legislation these people must be appropriately trained in basic food safety & hygiene.

Assessment & Certification:

To receive certification for this course, all learners must successfully complete both the theory & practical components of the course.

  • Duration 3 Hours.
  • Certificate of Attendance will be issued to all learners who successfully complete this course. Certification is valid for 3 years.
