Course Aims and Objectives:
On completion of the course, learners will be able to;
- Confidently deal with an emergency first aid situation involving a child
- Administer appropriate first aid treatment to a child
- Know what to do & what not to do in the event of an emergency
Course Programme:
- Introduction to First Aid
- Accident scene management – Personal safety
- Patient Assessment
- Infant & Child CPR
- Respiratory Emergencies & Choking
- Burns & Scalds - Medical Emergencies
- Other First Aid Information (e.g. Management of Spinal Injuries)
Training Methods:
Classroom based power-point presentation with a practical component; (i.e. Dealing with Emergencies)
Who Should Attend?
This course is specifically designed for those staff or individuals with an interest in, working with or caring for children or those under the age of 14 years.
