Course Aims and Objectives
This Refresher First Aid Responder Course delivers the HSA recognised standard of First Aid to those who are currently certified First Aiders. It revises the knowledge, practical skills & understanding required to provide appropriate first-aid treatment in the workplace in compliance with the requirements of the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007; Part 7, Chapter 2: First Aid Training. We deliver First Aid Responder Training in Dublin, Navan and for groups Nationwide.
On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- deal with life threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions in the pre-hospital environment until arrival of emergency medical services.
- provide First Aid Response for conditions not thought to be life-threatening but are necessary to prevent further harm before the emergency medical services arrive.
- provide pre-hospital First Aid Response in a wide range of environments including home and recreational settings.
- display the requisite personal skills including composure, competence and self-confidence while understanding their limitations.

Training Methods
This course is classroom based, delivered by a combination of theory lessons, practical skills and practice sessions. The CFR part of the course takes about 4-5 hours and is DVD led. The assessment will be skills based along with a multiple-choice exam, which is designed to reinforce the knowledge and skills learnt on the course.

This course is specifically designed for employees or individuals interested in renewing their qualification as a First-Aider.
