This course is designed to provide learners with the appropriate information on the hazards & dangers of working with & operating tractors & their components.
Course Aims and Objectives
On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Operator a tractor using safe driving procedures including safe parking
- Conduct pre-use safety checks on the tractor
- Correct selection & use of Personal Protective Equipment
- Be aware of the hazards in relation to hydraulic oil
Course Programme
- Health & Safety Legislation as per the Safety, Health n& Welfare at Work Act 2005
- Explanation, demonstration & practice in the correct procedures while operating a tractor
- Explanation of the various safety checks including controls, cab condition, PTO shaft, lights, indicators, wipers & brakes etc….
- Accidents – Causes & Prevention
Training Methods
Classroom based power-point presentation with a practical component; (i.e. Operate a tractor safely)
