Solas Safe Pass Course

Our SOLAS Safe Pass Training course is designed to raise & maintain a high standard of on-site health & safety awareness and to qualify all workers to gain access to construction sites.

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course, learners will:

  • Have increased safety awareness while at work in the construction sector
  • Have attended a formal training course in basic health & safety awareness

Training Methods:

Classroom based power-point presentation with discussions throughout & supplemented by videos.

Who Should Attend?

Those who wish to work in the construction sector or those who need their SOLAS Safe Pass Card refreshed.

Additional Information:

  • Minimum of 8 learners - Maximum of 12 learners
  • 1 day programme from 8am to 5pm
  • SOLAS Safe Pass Card will be issued by SOLAS to all learners who successfully complete this 1 day course
  • New Safe Pass card will be valid for 4 Years 
  • On the day learners need to bring one passport photo, PPS number, drivers licence or passport ID
  • Starting time & registration is 8.00am sharp

Course Locations

Safe Pass Dublin and Navan 

Our Navan location services both Dublin and Meath and is held in the Ardboyne Hotel in Navan. This great location is on the Dublin side of Navan and is just 30 minutes from the M50. For those on public transport, the Bus Eireann 109 service stops at Springfield Green which is 2 minutes from the hotel. Return travel options are available, see buseireann.ie for ticket information.

Our 8am start time makes it easier to get to Navan against rush hour traffic than for many Dublin-based courses and the hotel offers refreshments and is close to a variety of shops and food outlets. As our most popular location, we offer safe pass courses several times per week here.

Safe Pass Tullamore

Located in the Central Hotel in Tullamore, this course is easily accessible for those in Offaly, Laois and surrounding areas. Just a 10 minute walk from Tullamore train station, the location is in the heart of the town with easy access, parking and amenities nearby.

Safe Pass Dundalk

Our Dundalk Safe Pass course takes place at Creative Spark which is a couple of minutes from both Dundalk Hospital and Dundalk IT. A short walk from the town centre, the location is also served by Bus Eireann's 174B bus or the 916 bus from Halpenny Transport via https://www.transportforireland.ie/. This location is well located with amenities nearby.

Safe Pass FAQ

No, safe pass cannot be done online but our safe pass course can be completed in just one day, even on Saturdays. Your safe pass card is then valid for 4 years. If you lose your safe pass card, a new one can be ordered online from Solas.
The safe pass course can be completed within 1 day. Saturday courses are also available.
On the day learners need to bring one passport photo, PPS number, drivers licence or passport ID. Starting time & registration is 8.00am sharp.
It is possible to fail the safe pass exam but our experienced instructors will ensure you have all you need to pass. Our safe pass pass rate is over 99%.
Yes, safe pass is mandatory. Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, all construction workers in Ireland - including apprentices and trainees - are legally bound to hold a valid Safe Pass Registration Card.
Safe pass can be completed by anyone aged 16 and over.
